Weekly Rides on the Big Island

Saturday Morning Ride from Kona Join Hawaii Cycling Club every Saturday morning, 7a.m. at the Old Airport playground parking area . We leave as a group and head north up Queen Ka'ahumanu Hwy and turn back at various points- distance varies from 30 to 70 miles depending on far and fast you want to ride.    Fast riders can enjoy a good paceline workout with members of the Hammerhead Race Team. There is usually a group going your pace and distance so don't worry if your not a racer, however this is usually a brisk workout!

Saturday Morning Coffee Talk Ride from Kona Meet at parking lot in front of the swimming pool at the Old Kona Airport at 7 a.m. on Saturday mornings to ride & talk story to the Veterans Cemetery. Easy pace, no one gets dropped and optional coffee stop on the return (22 miles total). Go to the Coffee Talk Riders Website for current updates & more info.

Sunday Morning Mtn Bike Ride Most Sundays 8:00 am. Intermediate to Advanced Riders. Usually Koloko Mountain Bike Trail in the Honua’Ula Forest Reserve.

Hilo Rides HCC members on the Eastside have regularly scheduled club rides on Tuesday and Thursday  and Saturday departing at 7:30 a.m. We ride together and support new riders. The rides leave from Mid-Pacific Wheels (Map). Contact Mid-Pacific Wheels for more info.

Saturday Morning Ride from Waimea Usually leaves 7 a.m. from Mountain Road Cycles in Waimea. Different routes such as Old Mamaloa Hwy, Kohala Mt. Rd., or drive to Kawaihae and ride the coast depending on the weather. Email for details Mountain Road Cycles

Tuesday Morning Ride. Leaves from the parking lot at the rear of Bike Works at Queens Marketplace at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday (Map). 1 1/2 to 2 hr ride.

Thursday Morning Ride. Leaves from the parking lot at Cycle Station at 6:30 a.m. Thursdays (Map). Rides to Starbucks at Waikaloa Queens Mall- 42 miles round trip.
