“Start by doing what’s necessary, then do what’s possible,
and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”
and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”
Franz Weber
1953 – 2025
In April 2025 we lost our Club President, a great public servant, friend, and anchor of our community. Franz served the Hawaii Cycling Club and the entire Big Island community selflessly, generously, transparently, energetically, and unconditionally. We hold him in our permanent memory for his high ethical conduct, unconditional dedication to helping others, positive attitude, and endless energy and availability, especially to those who are in greatest need. Franz embodied all the virtues of a dedicated champion for the community and as a model of generosity and kindness to all of us.

“Everybody wants to do good,” Weber told those assembled in his honor.
“Just give them a chance. Give them a way. Find them a way.”
