All proceeds will be donated to our charity partner, Hospice of Kona, whose efforts have helped thousands of island families cope with serious illness, end-of-life care and grief counseling. Volunteers from Hospice of Kona provide much of the support necessary to run the event.
The annual Hawai'i Century Rides showcase of some of the most beautiful country roads in the state, including the Akoni Pule Highway, Kohala Mountain Road, Mamalahoa Highway (Hawai'i Belt Road), and the Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway. Cyclists will choose to ride one of two distances: 110 miles or 60 miles.
The Century route is a loop course of ~110 miles with an elevation gain of ~6,500ft. Starting at Spencer Beach Park, the route follows the Ironman World Championship course north to the plantation era town of Hawi. Riders then climb Kohala Mountain Road and descend into picturesque Waimea.
After refueling, the route continues south at a cool and breezy elevation along Mamalahoa Hwy. to Kailua Kona, where the course turns north to return to Spencer Beach Park via the coastal Queen Ka'ahumanu Hwy.
Metric Century riders will find a challenging and scenic ride on the north section of the Century route between Kawaihae and Hawi, and Kawaihae and Waimea, respectively.
Friendly riders, great aid stations, a souvenir t-shirt, and post-ride local grinds make for an epic day on your bike you will never forget.
Volunteers are always welcome! Should you, your friends, your family members, co-workers or cycling buddies wish to volunteer, please email Rich Bell at email@example.com. Mahalo!
