Minutes 6-11-05 Monthly Membership Meeting

The May monthly membership meeting was called to order at 09:35AM June 11, 2005 by Vice President Gary Shields.

Present: Gary & Juno Shields, Andy Schmid, Bob Schratz, Scotty Scott, Grant Miller, Doug Wilkerson, Richard Chamberlin, Mary Osborne, Len Peddicord, Harry Yoshida and Chris Huber

Treasurer Bob Schratz reported approximately $8335.08 in the bank. We are expecting $600 from Honu Triathalon.

Leonard reported we have 69 active/family memberships.

Leonard reported for Wendy that we should have some designs by the July meeting. There was a discussion concerning how much sponsors would pay for the size of there spot on the jersey. This led to a discussion of dues and the two year renewal with purchasing a jersey. Leonard made a motion to increase the two year charge plus jersey to $80. It is currently $75. Mary seconded. After a short discussion the motion passed unanimously.

Doug reported on our preparation for the State Race and submitted a proposed flyer which would be sent to US Cycling for approval. There was a question about categories and whether we were mirroring the BAR series. Doug would research and make sure our categories matched. Doug will be coordinating fund raising in Kona and Scotty in Hilo. Still waiting for approval from Shipman for the Crit on Saturday. The road closure process is moving along with the County for the Road Race on Sunday. We will need volunteers from both side of the island so think about making a trip to Hilo for weekend of 6 Aug.
