Meeting
called to order.
2.
Minutes of the
previous General Membership Meeting on Dec 3, 2005 were approved.
3.
Jerseys: Bob
ordered the new club jerseys. Skinsuits
will be ordered at $75/each. We need
them in time for the May District Time Trial.
15 people were identified who will want a skinsuit. Bob will order 20 so we have a few
extra. It was resolved to charge
members $75 for the skinsuits and then reimburse each member $25 if they use
the skinsuit for racing (e.g. the District Time Trial).
4.
Report from
the Race Committee: The
Hawaii Cycling Club will sponsor the District Time Trial for Sunday, May
21. The course will be similar to the
Lava Man course. Gary says the Sea to
Stars hill climb ride will be in the June/July time frame.
5.
Report from
the Ride Committee: Ride committee plans about 5 fun rides with
about 15-20 people attending per ride.
Non-members may be invited to help introduce them to the Hawaii Cycling
club. The Hawaii Cycling Club will
provide lunch on these rides. To
provide meals the Ride Committee requested a budget of $1200 for 2006. The
request was approved by the board members present.

Report from
the Membership Administrator: Andy says some members are due for
renewal. It was noted that some of the
members due for renewal are Board Members and Club Officers.
7.
Proposed
changes to the HCC Constitution and Bylaws: Doug will email his proposed
changes to the membership and we will discuss them at the next meeting.
8.
Report on
the Dec 17 Bike give-away to needy youngsters: 120 Bikes were given out and
30 were left. All the bikes needed a
lot of mechanical help, tuning, and fitting to the youngsters. Next year it is suggested we set up a simple
riding course to introduce the kids to their new bikes. All HCC participants (Grant, Steve, Rich,
Mary, Bob) had a rewarding experience and a great time. The Board approved to help sponsor the event
and send $500 to the "Harley Guy" to help cover his expenses.
9.
Report on
proposed email poll to discover membership preferences for HCC 2006 activities:
Grant circulated his proposed survey.
There were no suggestions for improving it. Richard will circulate it to
the membership via email.
10.
Steve suggested
the idea of a practice team time trial. It would be an open event. It was noted that Keith Crew posted a time
trial event for Feb 11 on www.bigislandraceschedule.com.
Doug will integrate the Big Island Race Schedule into HCC Calendar.
