The Hawaii Cycling Club

is
about cycling in all its many forms. If you ride for Relaxation,
fitness, or competitively, we have something for you. From our racing
team to our beginner's cycling class, Cycling 101, we offer
something for everyone on the street or trail.

The
Hawaii Cycling Club,
based on the Kona side of the Big Island of Hawaii, is
one of Hawaii's premier amateur road, mountain and multisport (duathlon/triathlon)
cycling and community sports organizations. The Club's racing team
competes on a state and mainland-wide calendar that includes the eight
race Hawaii State Cycling Association BAR (Best Area Rider) road series
on the islands of Hawaii and Oahu, and various high level races in
the western United States.
The Club formed over the years of 1997-1999. The racing
team boasts no fewer than One World Amateur Triathlon Champion, Duathlon
National Champion, three time Ultraman Champion, numerous Ironman
World Championship finishers, high ranking NORBA mountain bikers,
and present and past Hawaii State Champion cyclists. Aside from all
these great athletes, we are mostly just regular folks who enjoy being
on the road or in the dirt. |
Hammerhead Race Team

The Hammerheads are the state's premier racing team. A USCF sanctioned
team that has been competing for years with the best in the state
and on the mainland (that's North America in case you didn't know).
The team welcomes newcomers who want to learn about and experience
the thrill of racing and is led by coach Steve Crane. For more about
races and results, click

Community Involvement
In addition to its appeal to competitive cyclists, the club is also
a community oriented group that is dedicated to helping Kona residents
have a safe and rewarding experience by offering classes to newer
riders, working toward making the roads more rideable, and offering
rider safety training workshops. Working with other community groups,
we will be teaching bicycling safety classes to the community and
in the schools of West Hawaii. Check our calendar
for upcoming events. |
